'Failure' an online hit

THE charred remains of a torched car left at the base of Mount Warning last month have become an internet sensation.

A photo of the ute, believed to have been performing burn outs before it was torched, has made it on to popular website failblog.org.

Failblog.org collects photos and videos of mistakes or misfortunes with the text 'fail' superimposed on the image.

It has become a popular internet fad in the past few years.

The photo of the ute in the car park of the Mount Warning National Park has received close to 5000 votes to date, with general consensus giving it five out of five thumbs down - meaning it is well liked among viewers.

The image was uploaded on September 13.

A police spokesman said earlier this month that Murwillumbah police and the Rural Fire Service were called to the scene of the burning ute about 2am on Saturday, August 29 after a member of the public saw the flames, and when they arrived they found the ute well alight.
