Jimmy Fallon to open Golden Globes with musical spoof

HOLLYWOOD'S A-list are celebrating the Golden Globes, which are regularly one of the most freewheeling and frothiest award shows of the year.

Champagne will flow and punchlines will fly as Jimmy Fallon hosts this year's show, being broadcast live from Beverly Hills, California.

Fallon is kicking things off with an opening spoof of a song from La La Land possibly starring Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake Us Weekly reports.

"It's spoofing one of the nominated movies, and we have a lot of fun cameos, we have a lot of good favourites. I don't want to name names but Justin Timberlake … I won't say anything, this is not to go on record but Ryan Reynolds … and don't even ever talk about Tina Fey. No one is in this thing."

According to Page Six in The New York Post, Best Supporting Actress nominee Nicole Kidman will also have a large role in the number, which will be a musical spoof of La La Land (possibly the film's colourful opening number, 'Another Day in the Sun').
