Family desperate after puppies disappear
A HEARTBROKEN family has turned to the Tweed for help, after new information sparked hope their stolen labrador puppies may be in the area.
Sharon Dixon said their two ten-month-old labrador puppies, Yogi and Diesel, disappeared from their Maudsland home on the Gold Coast on November 30 last year.
Within three minutes of escaping into a neighbour’s yard, the dogs disappeared without a trace and nearly four months on, there has still been no sign of them.
Ms Dixon has made several public pleas to help find the beloved pooches and even consulted a psychic, so far to no avail, but the family has received new information suggesting the dogs could be in Murwillumbah or Kyogle.
“It’s horrible,” Ms Dixon said.
“The kids are devastated. We just want them back. We need our family back together.”
Ms Dixon feared a money-hungry opportunist may have pinched the puppies to on-sell.
“I’ve got so many people out there looking,” she said.
“I can only hope that they’re together and that they’re happy. It was not something that I ever even dreamed of happening.
“I do believe they’ve been stolen so they could be anywhere in Australia... but we had a few tip-offs that they were in the Kyogle and Murwillumbah areas.”
The family has offered a $2000 reward for anyone with information which leads to the location of the dogs.
She said Diesel was a distinctly white hue, rather than the typical golden colour of a labrador, while the chocolate-coloured Yogi had three “wonky” front teeth.
Anyone with information about the puppies’ whereabouts should contact Ms Dixon on 0421 336 619.
