Fatigue 'possible cause' of crash

A HEAD-ON crash at Terranora has police urging motorists to stop, revive and survive.

About 9.30am, two cars collided when one crossed to the wrong side of the road.

The driver then over-corrected, flipping the car on to its side.

Luckily both drivers, two Terranora men, escaped without injury, however both cars were badly damaged.

Inspector Brad Stuart said the men were lucky to escape unharmed.

“Police and ambulance both attended and it appears there was no alcohol or speed involved,” Insp Stuart said.

“We are investigating the possibility fatigue could have been a factor.

“At this stage the investigation is ongoing.”

He said police were constantly reminding motorists to take regular breaks.

Making sure your vehicle is regularly serviced, getting plenty of sleep and avoiding alcohol before long drives would help motorists stay safe on the roads.

Planning your trip to include 15-minute breaks every two hours will help ensure you arrive on time and alive.
