Perfect breeding conditions for feral pigs

LIVESTOCK Health and Pest Authorities (LHPA) are now targeting feral pigs in the region after reports pointed to numbers increasing due to ideal breeding conditions.
Landholders are being reminded to use control methods such as traps and baiting with 1080 poison, available from LHPA offices, to control the declared pests and reduce agricultural losses.
Accreditation courses are required to be undertaken to use control methods and the LHPA provides short training courses on a regular basis.
