Fernwood ladies find fighting spirit

THE ladies at Fernwood Women's Health Club Robina are marching their way to weight loss success in the club's Military Miss Boot Camp - a specialised six week group fitness challenge.

Fernwood Robina club manager and qualified personal trainer Vanessa Griese said the Military Miss Boot Camp creates the perfect atmosphere for women to challenge themselves and to get the results they want.

“At Fernwood we provide an environment where women, no matter their age, are empowered to achieve their health and fitness goals without pressure,” Vanessa said.

“Military Miss caters for all fitness levels, so it doesn't matter if you have a lot of weight to lose or you just want to get fit.

“Military Miss enables you to work at your own level.

“The girls don't want to miss a session because they don't want to let themselves down, or let the other girls down either, they become a team and develop a real camaraderie,” she said.

Fernwood member, Danielle Smith, found the boot camp helped her stay motivated to achieve her weight loss goals.

“I've done two boot camps and have made some really good friends because all the girls encourage and spur each other on.

“I've lost 10kg and have learnt healthy habits that will help me maintain the weight loss,” she said.

The club has been operating at Robina Town Centre for 12 years, offering facilities such as a fully staffed crèche, allowing members some 'me time,' while their children are cared for in a fun and secure environment.

Amy Pratt, a 27 year old mother of two, joined Fernwood Robina when her second child was just seven weeks old.

“The atmosphere is great and I just couldn't wait to get into the club to have some time for myself.

“I had two kids one after the other and boot camp was really the best way for me to lose weight.

“Its hard work but you really see results - I've lost my baby weight and dropped two dress sizes to a size 10, its incredible!” she said.

The next Military Miss Boot Camp will be taking place in June to help you to stay fit and motivated throughout the cold winter months.
