Festival name will rock on

[BREAKING NEWS]: COOLY Rocks On will stay as the official title for next year’s Wintersun replacement rock ‘n’ roll nostalgia festival, organisers have announced this morning.

The name was originally used as a tentative title for the new festival since it was announced the long-running Wintersun event would not return to Tweed Heads and Coolangatta next year.

Tweed Tourism general manager Phil Villiers said there was overwhelming support to keep the new festival’s name as Cooly Rocks On.

There were more than 2400 entries pitching new names or support for Cooly Rocks On.

Wintersun had its final showing in the twin towns earlier this year.

It will now travel to regional New South Wales, beginning with Port Macquarie next year, as part of a deal with the State Government.
