Finding serenity in dance lesson
SERENE Living residents had twinkles in their toes yesterday after a private dance lesson with ballroom dancing champion Rhett Salmon.
The Tweed Heads over-55s apartment complex has a focus on keeping its guests active and young at heart, and the lesson from Australia's No.4 ballroom dance champion was just one in a list of events served up as part of the Lifestyle by Serene program.
Serene Living director Ben Fuller said the program was all about engaging with the community to give potential buyers a taste of the lifestyle they can expect from the complex.
"We want to demonstrate some of the lifestyle elements Serene Living will offer once it is complete," Mr Fuller said.
"Serene Living is more than luxury apartments, it's a luxury lifestyle.
"Residents will become part of a socially-active community and that's the ethos behind Lifestyle by Serene. All of our courses have been free.
"Residents can do as little or as much as they like."
Mr Salmon said it was never too late to brush up on some dusty skills.
"Ballroom dancing takes people back to their heyday when jazz was swinging and the floor was banging," he said.
"People don't dance enough these days and there is nothing like moving to beautiful music and having a bit of fun."
Lifestyle by Serene guests have also enjoyed a free Back to the Tivoli show, a social media training session with Rossco Paddison, a professional golf lesson with Ross Moodie, a photography lesson with Antony Merat of Light Art Media, a gourmet cooking demonstration with celebrity chef Steven Snow, an aqua aerobics lesson with Deb Bingle from Aquaholics and a wine appreciation afternoon with Fesq Wines at Fresh Cafe.
