Fingal full of holiday-makers

WHAT a difference a weekend can make.

With Christmas passed for another year, people are starting to head out for a relaxing start of 2012.

Fingal Head quickly filled up after Christmas and the caravan park turned from a ghost town into a thriving metropolis overnight.

Fingal Holiday Park manager Wayne McGregor said the park was booked solid right through to the new year.

"It's just one of those years where we will get a big influx of people down here on Boxing Day," Mr McGregor said.

It was a similar picture up and down the coast as the Pacific Motorway filled with holidaymakers Sunday night heading south.

BEFORE: Fingal Holiday Park on Friday with only two tents errected.

AFTER: The very same spot is swarming with holiday-makers on Boxing Day.
