Fire damages family day care home
A TWEED Heads South home-based family day care was destroyed by fire today.
Fortunately nobody was injured or at home at the time of the fire.
Two fire crews battled the blaze at Kim's Family Day Care from about 10am.
Plumes of smoke filled the sky as the top floor of the two story brick home was reduced to rubble.
Residents of the street told the Tweed Daily News the occupant of the home had left five minutes before the fire broke out.
Ambulances attended the scene as a precaution.
At time of press, Tweed Byron LAC and the NSW Rural Fire Service had no comment.
