Fire Dawn Fraser? How dare you!

DAWN Fraser was fired for the first time in her life on Celebrity Apprentice last night.

In the emotional double elimination the swimming legend and PR guru Prue MacSween were both sent packing by host Mark Bouris.

"It's a sad feeling," Fraser said.

"It's like, you know, you lose your family. That's what it's been like in the last five weeks. Even though there's been ups and downs in the challenges we all became very close with one another."

The 75-year-old said she appreciated Mr Bouris's "gentle" firing.

"I'd been in longer than I anticipated; it was a very gentle firing," she said.

"I'd never been fired in my life. I think Mr Bouris made the right decision."

True to her fighting spirit, Fraser competed against much younger celebrities to raise $40,000 for her Sunshine Coast charity Riding for the Disabled last week.

"Being the oldest in the challenge, I thought I would have been out before this," she said.

"But I thought 'no I'm going to give these youngsters a run for their money'. I gave it my best shot."

Swimmer Stephanie Rice was the only one from Team Supreme to make it through to next week's grand final alongside Jeff Fenech, Roxy Jacenko and John Steffensen.

Fraser tips Jacenko to win.

"I think the person who's going to win is Roxy because she's dynamic," she said.

"She's very well organised and she knows what she wants in life."

Last night's challenge saw former Apprentice contestants Patti Newton, Warwick Capper, Nathan Jolliffe and Max Markson return to help the six celebrities renovate the Don Bosco House for at-risk youth.

Next week's grand final challenge will also involve the Don Bosco charity.
