Fire rips through home

NO ONE was injured in a fire that ravaged a house at Mermaid Beach on Thursday afternoon.

About 4.30pm a resident of the Toorak Park Ave address noticed a fire in one of the front rooms of the house and called 000.

By the time firefighters could extinguish the blaze the low-set brick house had been destroyed.

Investigations into the cause of the blaze were continuing.
