Firefighters are one truck down

TWEED firefighters will be getting some help from a truck from Alstonville after one of their own had mechanical failure this morning.

Regional North Two superintendent Chris Bond said one truck had mechanical failure but two others were still housed at the Tweed station.

"There has been no reduction in response time," Supt Bond said.

"We do have a trunk from Alstonville to ensure that response times are maintained. We will not be relying on crews from other areas, such as Kingscliff."

Mr Bond said the truck broke down this morning and it was unknown how long it would be before it was repaired.
