Firefighters discover body after extinguishing house fire

A BODY was discovered in the ruins of a house explosion on the NSW Mid North Coast on Friday.

A street in Lakes Way, near Tuncurry, was cornered off about 11am following reports of a strong gas smell and house fire.

The blaze was extinguished but firefighters later found a body inside.

Traffic was banked up at Bulladelah on the Pacific Hwy where traffic was still being diverted on Friday afternoon.
