EMERGENCY services are water bombing a bushfire burning in the South Burnett region.

The fire broke out in the Wilkesdale district about 7.30 this morning.

The fire is not threatening any property but is expected to burn out about 25 hectares of bushland.

Water bombing aircraft and fire crews are working to contain the fire, which is causing some smoke in the area.

Motorists in the region are advised to drive with caution and be aware of fire crews working nearby.
