Fishing for a creative outlet in Cabarita this weekend

CABARITA'S creative collective has been almost too successful for their own good.

With workshops attracting huge amounts of interest - but not enough people to keep them running - Caba Creative is hunting for some new volunteers.

One of the founders, Pieta Gardiman said this weekend's Lions Greenback Fishing Competition would be a great time to come and see what they're all about.

Ms Gardiman said the Caba Creative markets would make the fishing competition a bit more of a family event.

"It's a two-fold charity event," she said.

"We're not making any money from it.

"We're doing it for love."

The Lions Greenback Fishing Competition will take place on Saturday and Sunday, with $30,000 in prizes to be won.

The Caba Creative markets will take place on Sunday, 9am-3pm.
