  • WITH fine weather predicted for this weekend take the time to do the Walk of Remembrance and Centaur Memorial which honours the ships and brave men and women who gave up their lives for Australia. Few people today are aware of the war at sea which raged along the Australian coastline during World War II. This silent war was kept from the knowledge of the Australian public at the time to prevent panic and the loss of morale. The most tragic loss on the eastern coast was the torpedoing of the hospital ship, AHS Centaur on 14 May 1943 with the loss of 268 lives.
  • TWEED Theatre Company's production of Sleeping Beauty will be playing at the Tweed Civic Centre on Saturday and Sunday 21, 22, 28, 29 September at 1.30pm, Friday night 27 September at 7pm and Wednesday morning 25 September at 11am. Adults $18, children $7 with family tickets $40 (2 adults & 2 children). Tickets available at the door, also online at tweedtheatre.com.au or ph 1800 674 414.
