Initial Report: 9.24am Thursday
TWO men will face court on Thursday following the four-month investigation into a double drive-by shooting in Banora Point in February.
In the early hours of Monday February 3, two shotgun rounds were discharged into a home in Anthony Ave.
Moments later, five rounds were reportedly fired at a vehicle in Laura St.
No one was injured in either shooting.
Operation Kulayle was established to investigate the shootings.
Resulting from extensive inquiries, officers executed a number of search warrants in Terranora, Banora Point, Tweed Heads, Tweed West and Tweed south on Wednesday.
A 21-year-old Terranora man was charged with firing at a dwelling, discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, supply firearm, three counts of supplying on an ongoing basis and three counts of supply drugs.
He was refused bail and will appear in Tweed Heads Court on Thursday June 12.
A 38-year-old man will also face court on Thursday, charged with supply firearm, attempt to possess firearm, and attempt to acquisition of firearm.
A 23-year-old and 22-year-old man was charged with counts of supply prohibited drug.
A 36-year-old man was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug, four counts of possess prohibited drug, three counts of goods in custody and possession of prescribed restricted substances.
The last three men were granted conditional bail to appear in Tweed Heads Court on June 30.
Tweed/Byron LAC crime manager Detective Inspector Brendon Cullen could not shed any light on the motives for the February shooting, but did say the incident was not considered random.
Insp. Cullen said a .45 calibre pistol was one of the weapons used in the shooting.
"We are looking for another person involved in the drive-by shooting," Insp Cullen said.
"We recovered two firearms, one from the search warrant today, another firearm a number of weeks ago."
Insp Cullen said none of the men currently charged as a result of this investigation are known to have bikie links.
