Five things to do on the Tweed this weekend
1. MUCH-loved choir the Voice Weavers will perform its Vietnam Farewell tonight. The group is flying over to Hoi An, Vietnam to fly the flag for Australia at the International choral festival. It's a gold coin donation concert held at St Augustine's Church, cnr Tweed and McLean St Coolangatta from 7pm.
2. THE Ladies of Country, direct from the USA, will perform at Twin Towns Services Club tonight. The tribute show to Dolly Parton, Shania Twain and Patsy Cline is here for the second time. To catch some true American country performance head to Twin Towns from 8pm. Call 1800 014 014 to book, tickets are $30.
3. DOUBLEMASK Drama and the Senior Students in the Canvas and Kettle Studio present Life & Death In Suburbia tonight. The absurdist-style play explores a place where the neighbourhood is well and truly gone and everyone is scared of everyone. See it at the Murwillumbah Civic Centre from 7.30pm. 4. CABARET 360 kicked off last night but never fear, you can catch it again tonight. It 360 features 25 of the best acts from the Tweed region and beyond. This year's line-up includes Joel Salom, Ernest the Clown, Suzette the glass shattering opera singer, folk festival favourites Sydney or the Bush, comedian Thomas Baily, pole dancer Michele Thomas, original music by Milan Martin and special guest appearances by Sue McKenna, Ana Phylactic and Nurse Perverse. Expect the bizarre and unusual! See it at Uki Public Hall from 7pm tonight. Entry is $30.
5. THE Sheoak Shack will host popular band Andy Jans-Brown tonight. From 7pm you can check out some of their songs including Dressed in a Woman's Clothes from the album that made it to number one on the Triple J National Radio Unearthed 'Indie' Chart. Frontman Andy Jans-Brown has toured extensively both in Australia and abroad. He has opened the show for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, fronting his then Sydney band 'Iris'.
