Five things to do on the Tweed this weekend
1. Tyalgum Diggers Fun Day
TYALGUM Diggers Family Fun Day at Tyalgum Showground from 11am till 10pm on Saturday. Come and enjoy a family fun day with Australian Light Horse Demonstration, bush skills demonstrations, sports and novelty events, market stalls, vintage cars, laser skirmish, farm animals, food, live music and bar to 10 pm, and fireworks at sunset!
2. Neptune Productions stage play
NEPTUNE Productions has a new show called Whistle Down The Wind, a musical from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jim Steinman.
3. Cotton Award at Tweed River Art Gallery
VISIT the Tweed River Regional Art Gallery in Mistral Rd, Murwillumbah for some amazing exhibitions including the Olive Cotton Award for Excellence in Photographic Portraiture, Leaf & Limb by local artist Valentina Palonen and Ben Quilty's After Afghanistan. Enjoy a coffee while overlooking the Tweed Valley. The Gallery and Cafe are open Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 5pm.
4. Prelim netball finals at Arkinstall Park
WHY not head to Arkinstall Park for some great netball action ton Saturday. The preliminary finals of the winter season are on and there are sure to be some hotly contested games, with the grand final looming next Saturday. Arkinstall Park is located in Cunningham St and games commence at 1pm with a second time slot at 2.30pm.
5. V8 Superboats at Cabarita Beach
CABARITA Beach will host the V8 Superboats on Saturday and Sunday at Round Mountain Rd. Always an adrenaline pumping experience, the races begin at 10am and can be viewed from the course's natural amphitheatre, Gates open at 9am and entry is $20 per adult, with kids under 16 admitted free.
