'Fletcher will be out of his depth'
ENGLAND'S Billy Joe Saunders reckons Aussie champion Jarrod Fletcher will be out of his depth when the pair stand toe-to-toe in London next month.
He will defend his Commonwealth (British Empire) middleweight title against Fletcher and he intends to make the Queenslander think about taking up a new sport ... swimming.
Saunders has won 14 of his professional bouts, including nine by KO, and is determined send Fletcher home a loser.
"I'm punching harder than ever so I hope he is ready for what's coming his way," Saunders said. "My last challenger went inside 30 seconds and don't be surprised if Fletcher goes even quicker.
"I really think that I'll make him quit boxing after he's been in the ring with me.
"I'm sure he's fit and strong and I'd hate to finish his sports career, so maybe he should look at doing swimming where Australia had some success in the Olympics."
Fletcher, who has won all 12 of his bouts, including seven by KO, laughed at the jibes from Saunders.
"Mate, I go alright at swimming - I'll take him to the depths of despair," he said.
