Facebook photos lead police to stash of explosives

A MAN will face court tomorrow after Facebook photos led police to a stash of explosives and dangerous chemicals in Rochdale South.

The 32-year-old man faces a raft of offences including manufacturing explosives without authority, failure to correctly store explosives and unlawfully possessing weapons.

Chief Superintendent Noel Powers said the man had an "unhealthy curiosity towards explosives".

"There's been concoctions put together, there's been a number of different mixtures put together," Superintendent Powers told reporters yesterday.

"He's been posting certain images and comments on Facebook that came to our attention."

Sections of Rochedale South were locked down during the raid on Saturday.

The man will face Beenleigh Magistrates Court.
