Force is strong with Rocky couple

AS Stephanie Bowditch waited to walk down the aisle, she could hear people gasping in surprise.

It's not everyday you see four stormtroopers take their place at the alter.

What would you do for love? Read another couple's story here.

Mixing the traditional with the quirky, Stephanie and her partner Craig Ridoux were married in the company of the Star Wars characters on July 14 at the Capricorn Caves Cathedral.

Stephanie said the pair were both members of the international costume and charity organisation, the 501st Legion.

She said the four stormtroopers were also from the group.

"We didn't have a big bridal party so we thought we might as well," she said.

"Craig is a big fan, he knows pretty much everything about (Star Wars)."

Stephanie said only the bridal party, photographer David Harbutt, and her parents knew about the surprise guests.

"I had a few people tell me it was well orchestrated," she said.

"Some people said it was the most beautiful wedding they'd been to."

David said the wedding was a standout in his photography career.

"Everyone was just like 'wow, that's pretty damn cool'," he said.

Despite pouring rain, David got some great shots of the happy couple at Studio 2 Nightclub.

STORM TROOPERS

  •  The Imperial Stormtroopers are elite soldiers, working as the marines for the Imperial Navy, under the leadership of the evil Sith Lord and Emperor Palpatine and his commanders, most notably Darth Vader.
