Former scout leader to face court on child sex charges

A FORMER NSW scout master, accused of sexually assaulting a young boy in the early 80s, has been charged.

Detectives from Sydney's North Shore launched an investigation earlier this year after a 46-year-old man came forward with the accusations.

He alleged that, at age 14 at two separate scout camps, he was assaulted by a Sydney scout master.

The accused, now 52, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with attempting to incite a male to commit an indecent act and indecent assault of a male.

He was given bail until his next court appearance on July 17.

Anyone with information about the allegations can phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
