Forum to discuss ice use in Tweed
ICE-related hospitalisations have risen by more than 400% across NSW.
It’s clear the issue needs a solution, so the Australian Drug Foundation, the NSW Government and local Community Drug Action Teams have banded together for the statewide Breaking the Ice forums.
Among the first two forums will be one in Tweed Heads next Thursday.
ADF NSW community programs manager Nikki Woolley said community leaders and drug prevention experts would be at the forum to break down the issues and misconceptions around crystal meth use.
“Police, government and many communities across NSW are all saying the same thing – we can no longer arrest our way out of the problem,” Ms Woolley said.
“This is a community problem which has a community solution.
“So come along and be informed about ‘ice’ and see how you can help reduce its use in your community.”
The forum will be at Tweed Heads Civic Centre from 6pm next Thursday, March 10.
