Brisbane man found guilty of murder 33 years on

BRISBANE man Stephen James Bradley, 53, has been found guilty of murdering Victorian 16-year-old Michelle Buckingham in October 1983.

The body of the Shepparton teenager was found on the side of a rural road in Kialla East two weeks after her disappearance and had at least 19 stab wounds.

The Victoria Police cold case unit reopened the murder investigation in 2012.

One of the witnesses to come forward was Bradley's brother-in-law, Norm Gribble, who told police that Bradley had admitted his involvement in the crime.

Bradley moved away from Shepparton a short time after the murder, the court heard.
