‘Love you’: Shattered mum’s tribute for teen drowning victim

Tributes are flowing for the 13-year-old boy who drowned at a popular swimming hole Thursday afternoon.

Aiden Braumann was swimming with friends at Cedar Creek Falls when they got into trouble. One of the boys was able to get back to shore and call for help.

Sherry Carroll took to social media to pay tribute to her son Aiden Braumann.

"This is the hardest thing and don't know how I'm going to get through it, my son Aiden Braumann. I love you so much," she wrote.

Aiden's aunty Samara took to social media to thank people for their kind words after the search came to a "shattering end".

Friend Maryam Sharry said Aiden was her "old school close friend and we will all miss him".

Tish Davies wrote: "RIP, miss you so much"

Police divers entered the water about 9pm and with the help of swift water rescue teams found the teen's body just after 10pm.

Police said initial investigations found the boy and a friend were swimming at the popular swimming spot under adult supervision when they both got in trouble about 4.45pm.

Police last night thanked fire and ambulance crews for their help in the search and recover mission.
