Freaky cats and kittens to mark Halloween with parade

DOGS and cats will seem barking mad in a scary Halloween parade being held in Tweed Heads.

This weekend Best Friends Pet Care Centre will hold their first ever Howl-o-ween pets parade.

Sticking with the Halloween theme all pets will be dressed up in their scariest costumes.

Manager David Carter said 30 people had already registered for the parade, which included two ferrets.

"There will be lots to do," he said.

"We have a great crew of motivated staff here who are excited for it."

Mr Carter said there would be free face painting from 10 until 3pm, a delicious sausage sizzle and stacks of prizes and giveaways.

"It's about meeting the community," he said.

The store is hoping to do this every year and with a Christmas, Easter and Valentines Day parade already under their belt Halloween will not disappoint.

Head into the Machinery St store on Saturday and Sunday at 12pm to catch the parade.

There are still plenty of spots to fill so call 07 5523 6700 if you are interested in joining in with the fun.
