Free buses for seniors expo

CLUBS NSW has offered a grant to the Senior Shire Citizens Week Committee for the funding of four buses which will be running to the 2012 Tweed Seniors Expo.

The shuttle buses will pick up passengers at a number of points in South Tweed, Banora Point, Bilambil, Terranora, Mooball, and Burringbar.

There will be a free shuttle bus running back and forth between the Expo venue and Sunnyside Shopping Centre (Murwillumbah)-this will not require a booking unlike the other bus-services.

A Tweed Shire Senior Citizens Committee representative, Pauline Dow, said the bus services will help facilitate comfortable transportation for those who are unable to drive.

"There are many out there who are unable to attend the Expo simply because they cannot drive," she said.

"The Tweed Seniors Expo is in its 12th year and each year I've seen the buses packed full of people."

The Tweed Seniors Expo will be held from 9am to 3pm on the May 17 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Racecourse Road, Murwillumbah.
