Free skate workshops held throughout the Tweed

GNARLY free skateboarding workshops will be staged on the Tweed over the first half of this year, the first kicking off next month.

Skateboarding Australia (SbA), a non-profit organisation that promotes skateboarding culture, has teamed up with Tweed Shire Council to offer the classes.

SbA provides trained staff to instruct young people as well as supplying all the equipment.

The first will be held at the South Tweed Heads Skate Park on Sunday, February 2 and Sunday, March 2.

They will move to Murwillumbah Skate Park on Thursday, April 17 and Cabarita Skate Park on Sunday, June 1.

They will be held from 10am-1pm.

It comes as community consultation about a new skate park in Murwillumbah's Knox Park continues.
