Film being shot off Brunswick
ELEVEN local actors will star in a top-rating French teen adventure series that started filming offshore near Brunswick Heads yesterday.
Four episodes of the popular French show, Foudre (meaning Lightning), including the series finale, will be filmed in and around the coastal village over the next eight days, injecting at least $230,000 into the local economy.
The show, also known as Summer Crush in other countries, is produced by French production company Adventure Line.
NSW-based Sandstar Films is facilitating the French production team with the shoot.
Sandstar Films line producer Sandra Alexander said the French had been impressed by the geography of the Northern Rivers and the local talent pool, including its indigenous actors.
“The French producers and director have been delighted with the beauty and variety of the region,” Ms Alexander said.
In addition to the 11 local cast members the company also employed 50 extras, 16 professional crew members and several businesses such as transport operators, catering and accommodation services and suppliers.
