Fresh approach to health to a healthier lifestyle

MIRIAM ter Borg and Allie Le Duc are mad about juice.

And these two young entrepreneurs are on a mission to make a difference and change people forever, both on the inside and out, by promoting the benefits of juice cleansing.

Juice cleansing is where you stop eating solid food and consume only freshly squeezed juice for a period of time.

"A juice cleanse allows your digestive system to rest," Miss ter Borg said.

"When we eat solid food a lot of energy goes into the digestion process."

When solid foods are cut from your diet the energy that goes in to digesting goes back into you.

"You then are putting a heap more energy into you to repair," Miss Le Duc said.

"Juice cleansing is really for your whole mind, body and spirit."

The women use a special cold press juicer that helps to keep as much goodness in the juice as possible.

"Cold pressed juice has an abundance of nutrients that are easy for the body to assimilate," Miss ter Borg said.

"The juice is of a high quality with maximum nutrients and more flavour."

Juice made in a cold pressed juicer retains nutritional integrity for up to three days because there has been little exposure to air and friction.

You can notice the pulp from a cold pressed juicer is significantly drier and more pale meaning all the goodness has been removed from the produce

Their new business, Sol Cleanse, caters to those of us with a busy lifestyle that can stop us from making healthy choices.

In fact, their biggest clients are women with toddlers who don't have the time to prepare large amounts of juice all of the time.

You can place and order online and have freshly squeezed juice bottled and delivered to your door if you live in the Tweed or the southern Gold Coast.

The duo said there were ample benefits to juice cleansing, which includes glowing skin, shiny eyes, mental clarity, improved happiness and weight loss.

"It's also a great way to help break bad habits," Miss Le Duc said.

Cleansing is also an excellent jolt to kickstart a healthy lifestyle.

As an added bonus Miss Le Duc, who is a yoga instructor, has created an easy-to-follow beginner's meditation CD and yoga instructional DVD.

"Yoga is an excellent addition to a cleanse program," she said.

"A juice cleanse is a great time to rest, relax and bring more peace into your life.

"It is a way to let go of all that is no longer serving you and find clarity and focus on what you truly want for your life.

Meditation is also an excellent way to clear the mind.

"It facilitates you to let go of whatever is weighing you down, physically, mentally and spiritually and open into new possibilities," she said.

"We love yoga.

"Whether you simply want to become more fit with a sparkling yoga glow or if you are looking for a deeper spiritual connection, the benefits of yoga are endless and fantastic."

But it isn't just about the juice and happiness of the mind.

The business partners, and friends, want to turn their business into a wellbeing community.

"Miriam and I are passionate about health and happiness and living what we love," Miss Le Duc said.

"Our vision for Sol Cleanse is to create a wonderful happy, healthy community on the coast for people to share and connect.

"We want to share our knowledge and passion for healthy living and having fun."

They plan to do this by offering juice cleansers wellness retreats.

A lot of people are jumping on the juice bandwagon because of it many health benefits it offers.
