Friendly festival reaches final day

THE “friendly festival” is how president Arthur Holmes describes the Murwillumbah Festival of Performing Arts.

And this was evident yesterday when former festival star Eliza Mulholland came back to watch the dancing.

The 19-year-old has spent the past two years in Denmark at the Royal Danish Ballet Academy.

“Watching the ballet reminds me of when I was here,” said Miss Mulholland, who performed in the annual eisteddfod from when she was 10 years old.

Mr Holmes said performers love to come back. “People always keep in touch.”

The month-long festival wraps up today with the under-13 years dance championships.

Program

All 12 years and under

9am: Modern/Jazz Improv, Song & Tap, Tap, Contemp and Tap Ensemble.
