From used cars to liquor, work on Dan Murphy’s begins

TWEED Heads South residents are set to have a new Dan Murphy's Liquor store late in 2014.

Previously a used car dealership backing onto the South Tweed Tavern, the site now cleared and ready for construction is located on the corner of Minjungbal Drive and Parry Street, Tweed Heads South.

A Dan Murphy's spokesperson confirmed the company had an approved Development application from Tweed Shire Council and would be commencing construction of the new franchise in February 2014 with an estimated finish date of August 2014.

The store is set to be one of the biggest stores in the chain of over 175 locations in the country.

"I imagine Tweed South residents will be keen to check out our great range of product and prices upon completion of the store," a Dan Murphy's spokesperson said.
