G20 proves a boon

TWEED'S accommodation vendors reaped the benefits when international leaders flew in to Brisbane for the G20 meeting last weekend.

Big 4 North Star Hastings Point spokesman Andrew Bradley said countless Brisbanites made the 90-minute drive down the highway to the Tweed Coast.

"We were 100% occupied for the weekend," Mr Bradley said.

Mr Bradley said due to a public holiday on Friday, plenty of people had come down for Thursday night as well.

He said the Tweed Coast was an optimum spot for Brisbane residents to escape from the high security and congested traffic during the G20.

"The area provides quite a good backdrop," he said.
