GALLERY: All class Scandinavian lodge at Terranora
SCANDINAVIAN or medieval is how owner Rodger Worthington best described his five-bedroom executive residence at the upmarket village of Terranora on the Tweed.
Just 10 minutes from Coolangatta Airport, the gated and secure entertainer is perched high to take in 160 degree views of the Tweed hinterland and coastline.
Set on a sprawling 0.5 ha, it has delightful, yet low maintenance gardens, a tennis court with hut and tiled salt water pool.
Pitched timber ceilings, feature walls and simple but bold architectural lines make a strong statement.
“The most spectacular thing about it is the view,” Mr Worthington said.
“We have an uninterrupted view from Kingscliff all the way to Byron Bay, we look over the Tweed River and the cane fields, to the coastline and then the ocean.”
But it was the outdoor space, perfect for dinner parties, which sealed the deal for Mr Worthington when he and his wife purchased the home nine years ago.
“We did a major, $450,000 renovation to bring it up to today’s standards,” he said.
Brisbane-based Mr Worthington said the home was a luxurious space to share and enjoy all the adventures offered on the North Coast.
“We are entertainers, so it was great in that house because you could invite many friends for the journey,” he said.
“We’d set off to the Bangalow Music Festival or the Byron Bay Blues Festival. We’d spend spend 10 days, or just pop down for a long weekend.
“But we’re getting a bit old for it now.”
So now’s your chance.
