Garden gig for Heart Collectors
TYALGUM band The Heart Collectors have returned home from their adventures in the United States and will perform an intimate gig in the village this weekend.
The folk group has just returned from an American tour which saw them play 32 shows over six weeks in Austin, Texas.
The group performed at the prestigious South By Southwest Music Festival, representing the country in an Australian music showcase and held weekly residency at The Empire Control Room and Garage, one of the region’s top live music venues.
Vocalist Kymrie Henge said she enjoyed delving into the music industry there.
“We love Austin, the people, the music, the food, everything is vibrant and alive,” Henge said.
Cellist Mobius Barnaby said they were glad to perform back on home soil – for now. “As much as we love America and Texas, it’s really nice to be home amongst the green and beauty of the Northern Rivers,” he said.
The band will return for another Texan tour in five months’ time and will perform as many live sets in Australia as possible until then. The Heart Collectors will perform a Secret Garden Show in Tyalgum on Saturday, June 4.
Meet at Flutterbies Cottage Cafe for a champagne reception at 1.30pm and a mini-bus will transport the audience to the secret garden venue.
Tickets cost $35 each. Drinks and refreshments available for purchase. Inquiries 0488713241.
