Gardener loves job

HE'S affectionately known as 'The Mayor of Razorback'.

John Bell used to tend the gardens at the top of Razorback Hill but has moved on to the bigger task of looking after Jack Evans Harbour.

"It's a bit of a change of view," he said.

"I suppose you could say it's a little sea change."

Much as he loves Razorback, having looked after the site for 24 years, he is enjoying taking care of the gardens at the harbour for Tweed Shire Council.

"I love the water and always have," he said.

"I'm a bit of a surfer and I've been around water all my life."

He said he really liked what the council had done at the harbour.

"It's so much more accessible to people now and it's a great place to socialise and unwind for many people," he said.
