Gas project leads to new partnership

A MAJOR coal seam gas project in Gladstone has led to a new partnership between Wide Bay TAFE, mining giants Santos and the Queensland Gas Company.

A new federally funded course will take the TAFE's water faculty into a new direction next year as it begins delivering training to water operators in the Santos Gladstone LNG project.

The course will use social media, lessons done over the internet and other e-learning technologies to teach regional workers how to manage coal seam gas water.

It is funded under the National VET e-learning strategy for Regional Business Programs, which gives funding to training programs that plan to capitalise on the National Broadband Network.
