"Girls" go for gold
THE ROUND Mountain Girls are "golden girls" since wowing the multitudes at this year's Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Taking out three Golden Fiddle Awards, the local band has a unique ability to master any music genre via the fiddle, banjo, guitar and tin whistle, to name but a few of their chosen instruments.
The "girls" are solid gold.
Fiddler extraordinaire Paul "Rabbit" Robinson has every reason to smile, with the band taking out Best Band
Featuring a Fiddle Player and Mr Robinson winning Best Fiddle Teacher and Lifetime Achievement for Fiddledom."
"It's a huge honour," he said.
"I'm absolutely wrapped.
"I've been trying all my life to win a golden fiddle."
The wins come hot on the heels of the release of their second studio album, One Step Closer.
The band has featured at Bluesfest, Woodford, Gympie Muster, Mud Bulls and Music, Caloundra and Tamworth music festivals as well as some of the most prestigious venues in the nation.
Anyone who has witnessed a performance by this high-powered band will know the energy and talent of their spirit is infectious.

The album features four-part harmonies, banjo, fiddle, acoustic guitars, mandolin, didgeridoo, a bucket-load of percussive instruments, bass and drums. The title of the album represents the bands growth.
