Gladstone man on incest charges wants to move to Rocky

A MAN accused of sexually abusing his children and grandchildren over three decades will remain in custody after a magistrate denied him bail.

The 68-year-old Gladstone man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faces 24 charges including incest and indecent treatment of children under 16 and 12.

Police allege the abuse occurred between 1984 and 2012.

Prosecutor Sergeant Scott Pearson described the man as "prolific and opportunistic".

The man's lawyer Christine Linklater said the man and his wife would move to the Rockhampton region if he was to be bailed.
