Go figure, the PM looks like a winner

THE decision to remove Tony Abbott as prime minister is looking better every week for the Coalition.

The latest Newspoll shows the Coalition's primary vote has risen six points to 45% since Malcolm Turnbull's ascension to the top job.

The poll has Labor with only 35% of the primary vote and trailing the Coalition 48-52% on a two-party preferred basis.

Worrying for Opposition Leader Bill Shorten, he polled only 17% as preferred prime minister, with Mr Turnbull riding high on 63%.

The Greens were down one point to 11% in the primary vote.
