Gold Coast still on flood watch
The Bureau of Meterology (BOM) is warning that further heavy falls today could bring more localised flooding to an already saturated border region.
Queensland Premier Anna Bligh yesterday declared the south-east region a flood disaster, activating emergency funding for rescue and relief operations.
It comes as a Gold Coast man was killed by the wild weather, after a metal bar became airborne and smashed into a glass window he was standing near.

"We live in an estate on the Gold Coast with extensive damage. Our 4m by 4m backyard is currently occupied by a tree and our kick/chase areadown the back has become a swimming pool." Lucy said.
