The golden voice of Laws is back

RADIO legend John Laws will soon return to the airwaves via Radio 97.

The iconic Australian will air his first show next Monday from 9am to 12pm DST.

Radio 97 account man- ager George Caralis said Mr Laws' return is sure to have Tweed listeners' ears glued to their radio.

“It is very exciting that John Laws is coming back onto the air; he is an Australian icon,” Mr Caralis said.

“We have had many listeners calling us and asking if it is true; he is such a well-known radio personality.

“He loves the Gold Coast and the Tweed and he is excited about his comeback.”

Mr Caralis said Mr Laws' return is sure to create some friendly competition in the radio business.

“It is sure to create some healthy competition.

There are sure to be a lot of listeners turning over the station to listen to John Laws,” Mr Caralis said.

“It's a return that is not to be missed.”

Mr Caralis said advertisers were quick to hop on board when they heard about the radio king's return.

“Advertising has all sold out for his show.

“People are aware of how popular it will be,” Mr Caralis said.

Following a sometimes controversial, but always entertaining and informative career, John Laws announced his retirement in 2007.

However, the lure of the radio and a captive audi- ence proved too strong for the broadcast legend.

Radio 97 broadcasts on 104.1FM on the Gold Coast, 97AM on the Tweed and on 103.5FM in the Northern Rivers.
