Crews back on scene at Bilambil fire

A GRASS fire on Beltana Dr, Bilambil has flared up once again. 

About 1.15pm Wednesday, emergency services were called to the scene, a Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said.

A number of crews remained on scene just before 2pm, with about one hectare alight. 

It's understood the Rural Fire Service is assisting.

Initial report: 3pm Tuesday, December 16

FIRE fighters are back on scene at a grass fire in Bilambil. 

Just before 11.27am Tuesday, emergency services were called back to a property on Beltana Dr, which went up in flames on Monday afternoon. 

A Fire and Rescue NSW spokeswoman said three crews from Fire and Rescue and three crews from the Rural Fire Service were working on containing the fire. 

They remained on scene as of 3pm. 

Fire crews were initially called to the fire about 2.20pm Monday.

When they arrived, about two hectares of grass was alight. 

By Tuesday morning, about three hectares had burnt.

The spokeswoman said no properties were in direct danger. 

There is a high fire danger for the Far North Coast on Tuesday.
