Great weather forecast for a cracking Chrissie
CRACK out the backyard cricket set - it's going to be a classic Aussie Christmas Day where the weather is concerned.
That means Tweed residents can expect humidity, patchy rain and a solid 28 degrees.
Luckily, Weatherzone meteorologist Ben McBurney said the Tweed Shire would avoid the heatwaves occurring throughout NSW.
"Most of the heat is going to be based inland and it won't quite get to your part of the world," Mr McBurney said.
"Because of the consistent sea breeze in your region, it tends to keep temperatures down for the most part.
"There will be some nice sunny spots, but mostly on-and-off wet weather."
Mr McBurney said weather models were "hinting at a few storms", but it was likely Tweed would miss much of the action.
"I would say those conditions are pretty standard for Christmas Day."
Boxing Day weather models are hinting at the chance of strong storms.
"Most models indicate a trough over the region, possibly bringing showers and thunderstorms," Mr McBurney said.
