Isis canegrowers welcome company payment

SHAREHOLDERS have welcomed the record additional price payment by Isis Central Sugar Mill.

The local business announced a $6.5 million payment to eligible grower shareholders at the company's half-yearly meeting which was held in May.

The money was paid into eligible grower shareholders' bank accounts this week.

Harvesting of the 2013 crop continues with 63,007.21 tonnes crushed for the week and 205,349.82 tonnes of cane for the 2013 season.

CCS for the week reached 12.80 units and the year-to-date figure is 12.41 units.

To date there has been large volumes of extraneous matter including dirt, tops and trash in the cane supply.

The weather has not been ideal for harvesting but contractors and growers are requested to be vigilant and address any harvesting quality issues immediately to avoid stool damage.
