Growing art at Tyalgum

STUCK for Christmas ideas?

The Tweed Valley Artists Co-op in Tylagum has a 10% off sale on some of their art throughout December, creating the perfect quirky Christmas gift.

Contributing artist Megan Jack said the co-op had seen an influx in artists and visitors since the opening in September.

"We've been growing, slowly but surely," Ms Jack said.

"Tourists have been really impressed with the gallery, they just see it as being different for some reason."

The co-op is located in a room of the Tylagum Hall, where the first Art Cafe Day will be held in January.

Ms Jack said artists were already booking booths for their displays at the January 7 event.

"We're inviting all artists to come and have a display booth on the day, but they're going really quickly," she said.

"We'll have naturally brewed chai tea and gourmet cakes.

"We're hoping some Tyalgum musicians will also come along to play."

To get in touch with the co-op call Megan on 0428 396 946 or Joan on 02 6679 3897.
