A TWEED gym is celebrating its first birthday with a health expo this Saturday, May 19.

Revolution at Seagulls manager Larissa Halls said the gym prides itself on delivering programs that appeal to the Tweed community.

To prove it the gym is having a Mini Health Expo where people can come in and get a taste of some of its programs.

"We're throwing open the doors to celebrate our first birthday and throwing down a few challenges at our Mini Health Expo," Ms Halls said.

"Our locals are invited to come and take part, or just come and watch, listen, learn and have a few laughs.

"What's great is that it's all absolutely free."

Ms Halls said the team was excited about its first birthday.

The celebrations today include a Strongest Man Chest Press competition.

"Already there's a bit of chest thumping going on around the weights room - we have plenty of young bucks here who fancy themselves for this one including some of the local footballers," Ms Halls said.

"It's all about style - this one is definitely for posers," Ms Halls said.

Showing off one of their best assets, Revolution will be opening up the crèche nice and early and there will be free face painting and entertainment for the little ones.

"Any babies who, like us, turn one this year will get the VIP treatment with two weeks free access to the crèche," Ms Halls said.

"That will please their mums - and all they have to do is turn up at the expo to claim their birthday present."

What's on during the mini expo:

8am-1.30pm: Kids creche opens with face painting and games.

11am-noon: Strongest Man Chest Press Competition.

9am-1.15pm: Multi Class Marathon.

12.30-1.30pm: Solstice - Mind Matters - Brain, Mind and Memory Centre - promoting positive change

1.30-2.30pm: Inspired Mind Network - personal development and coaching - presenting "How to overcome challenges and accelerate your success"

1.30-2.30pm: Expression Session - Featuring competitors preparing for Southern Hemisphere Body Building Figure & Fitness Championships (May 27, Twin Towns)
