Hair raising apprentices on show at Kingscliff TAFE

EXCITED Kingscliff TAFE hairdressing students will compete with their peers at a creative hair gallery evening on Wednesday May 28 at 6pm at the hair and beauty salon at Kingscliff TAFE.

About thirty-five students, ranging from first-year to third-year apprentices will be judged on the night.

"The Creative Hair Gallery evening is a wonderful opportunity for students to embellish their skills and to take their works to the limit," hairdressing teacher Chris Edmeades said.

"Industry representatives will judge each mannequin head on the cut, colour, innovation, creativity, design and finish.

"A people's choice award will be awarded to the favourite, as voted on Kingscliff/Wollongbar TAFE Hair & Beauty Facebook page."

First-year apprentice Zali Liddle of Canvas Hair in Kingscliff is excited about Wednesday night and enjoys learning about hair at TAFE so she can help out more at the salon.

"It will be interesting to see all the other students head blocks, it will be a lot of fun," Ms Liddle said.

"I will be looking at everyone's work and want to question how they achieved their end result."

The event is sponsored and critiqued by industry professionals JOICO.

Everyone is welcome to attend, however bookings are essential so please call Kingscliff TAFE on 6674 7200.
